The Chilean National Commission for Price Distortions (CNDP) has decided not to impose duties on imports of Mexican rebar. The authority made the announcement after it closed its anti-dumping investigation on 5 May.
CNDP has decided not to impose measures “… after its committee unanimously decided that the probe does not provide information to determine that these are necessary to prevent imports at dumping prices neither that the Chilean domestic industry was at risk,” the commission says in a note seen by Kallanish.
Chile began the AD investigation into Mexican-origin rebar imports on 7 February 2018 following a complaint by local producers CAP Acero and Gerdau AZA. The investigated product is classified under HS codes 7213.1000, 7214.2000, 7227.9000 and 7228.3000.
