China remains the largest iron, steel supplier to Vietnam, according to the General Department of Customs’ statistics.

Statistically, Vietnam imported 1,15 million tons of iron and steels in January, a slight increase of 2.2 percent compared to the previous month.

Specifically, China remained its position as the leading exporter of iron and steel to Vietnam with 526,764 tons worth approximately $347,38 million, accounting for 45.7 percent of national iron and steels import and 43.4 percent of total turnover; followed by South Korea with 139.890 million tons of iron and steels worth $112.75 million and Japan with 146.924 tons worth $98.02 million, which made up 12 percent of the country’s quantity and import turnover of iron and steels.
