The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into imports from China and Ukraine of hot-dip galvanized sheet, Kallanish learns from the Russian-controlled body.
The products under investigation fall under HS codes 7210490001, 7210490009, 7210610000, 7212300000, 7212506100, 7225920000. These are HDG, aluminium/zinc coated sheet, HDG strip below 600mm wide, other metal coated strip below 600mm wide, and HDG sheet other alloy. The tonnage of these products supplied by China and Ukraine exceeds 50% of production within the union, the body claims.
In 1 January-31 December 2017 the dumping margin of these products imported into the EAEU was calculated at 16.4% for producers in China and 25.6% for producers in Ukraine, according to EAEU documents. Between 2014 and 2017 the union saw apparent consumption of the products in question fall -2.9%.
Interested parties have until 60 days from 29 June to submit information related to the investigation. Those wishing to participate in public hearings and negotiations have until 25 days from this date to declare their intention.
Earlier this year the EU imposed five-year anti-dumping duties of 17.2-27.8% on various galvanized steel grade imports from China.
