  • East China, domestic, grade III 16-25mm rebar, traded at 3,600-3,650 yuan ($529-537) per tonne, including VAT. North China, domestic, grade III 16-25mm rebar, traded at 3,630-3,660 yuan ($534-538) per tonne, including VAT.  – source: Metal Bulletin
  • S&P Global Platts assessed SS400 HRC 3mm thick at $476-478/mt FOB China, with the midpoint of $477/mt that was unchanged on day. - source: Platts
  • In Shanghai’s dealer market, Q235 5.5mm HRC was assessed at Yuan 3,560-3,600/mt ($524-529/mt) ex-stock with 17% VAT, up Yuan 10/mt on day.

Scrap

  • Metal Bulletin’s daily index for Northern Europe-origin scrap closed the day on Wednesday at $288.72 per tonne cfr, up by $1.50 per tonne day-on-day.
  • The daily index for USA-origin HMS 1&2 (80:20) scrap closed at $297.83 per tonne cfr, up by $1.16 per tonne day-on-day. - source: Metal Bulletin
  • Turkish mills' ship scrap buying prices already reached $290/mt with latest buying price hikes, as Platts reported Tuesday. - source: Platts
  • US bulk scrap export continued to gain steam further supporting the domestic market. The market returned to work on Wednesday to find export numbers had reached $296-$298/mt CFR Turkey HMS 80:20 basis after the two most recent sales from a US East Coast supplier. Those were up from $295/mt pre-holiday sales and upfrom $274/mt CFR on June 7. - source: Platts
  • Prices for Taiwanese containerized HMS # 1&2 80:20 imports advanced by another $06 a ton to reach $248 a ton during the week ended June 09, according to the figures from The Steel Index.

  • Turkish mills’ domestic billet list prices strengthened to as high as $440-$445/mt ex-works Wednesday, while CIS mills' billet offers to Turkey rose further to $430/mt CFR, Platts learnt. - source: Platts

  • S&P Global Platts assessed Turkish export rebar at $452.50/mt on Wednesday, up $10/mt from Tuesday. - source: Platts
  • S&P Global Platts' assessment for Mexican domestic R42-grade rebar remained at Peso 10,300/mt delivered ($567.8/mt), based on a 10,200-10,400/mt range of bids, offers and deals. Prices exclude the mandatory VAT. - source: Platts

 

HRC/P

  • S&P Global Platts maintained its northwest European hot-rolled coil assessment at €490-495/metric ton ($555.42-561.08)/mt ex-works Ruhr Wednesday. - source: Platts
