  • Platts assessed SS400 HRC 3.0mm thick at $327-334/metric ton FOB China Monday, with a midpoint of $330.50/mt down $2/mt from last Friday. In Shanghai’s dealer market, Q235 5.5mm HRC was assessed at Yuan 2,490-2,500/mt ($378-380/mt) ex-stock with 17% VAT, down by Yuan 10/mt from last Friday. - source: Platts

Scrap

  • Global scrap prices have been steadily rising of late, with the price of US containerized scrap to Taiwan, for example, up $13/mt on week as of June 17 to $204/mt, as Platts reported. - source: Platts

 

  • The Platts weekly assessment for clean steel scrap is at 430/mt ($125/mt), based on a range of Real 410-450/mt for bids, offers and deals. - source: Platts

 

  • The weekly heavy melting scrap I/II assessment also held steady at Real 410/mt, based on a Real 400-420/mt range. The last range was at Real 380-410/mt, also in mid-May. - source: Platts

 

Semis
