Long steel

  • East China, domestic, grade-III 16-25mm rebar, traded at 2,080-2,120 yuan ($317-323) per tonne, including VAT. North China, domestic, grade-III 16-25mm rebar, traded at 2,200-2,210 yuan ($335-337) per tonne, including VAT.  – source: Steel First

 

  • Platts assessed 16-20mm diameter BS500 rebar unchanged at $304/metric ton FOB China actual weight. - source: Platts

 

  • Shagang’s price for 16-25mm diameter HRB400 rebar remains at Yuan 2,190/mt ($333/mt) theoretical weight including 17% VAT. The steelmaker also retains its HPB300 wire rod price unchanged at Yuan 2,310/mt including VAT. – source: Steel First

 

  • Platts assessed Beijing dealer prices for 18-25mm diameter HRB400 rebar at Yuan 2,250-2,260/mt ex-stock actual weight and including VAT, up Yuan 35/mt from the previous assessment on June 8. – source: Steel First

Scrap

  • The May monthly average of the daily benchmark index for Turkish imports of HMS #1&2 80:20 rose to $308.70 a ton CFR Iskenderun port, up 12.59% month-on-month from April.  - source: Scrap Register

 

  • The daily index for Northern Europe-origin HMS 1&2 (80:20) closed at $225.07 per tonne cfr Turkey, unchanged from Friday’s index. - source: Steel First

  • Prices at the Kanto Tetsugen monthly ferrous scrap export auction in Japan collapsed this month by an average of ¥7,234 ($68) per tonne from the previous period, reflecting worsened market conditions in Asia. - source: Steel First

 

  • Taiwan’s Feng Hsin Steel has increased its domestic scrap purchase prices for the first time since the beginning of May, after making cuts totalling NT$2,600 ($81) per tonne. source: Steel First

 

Semis

  • Platts assessed its daily CIS export billet price at $310/metric ton FOB Black Sea Monday, up $5/mt on day. - source: Platts

 

  • Platts had assessed its monthly price assessment for base SAE1008, SAE1006 or equivalent grade slab at end-May at $380-395/metric ton CFR, down from $395-400/mt CFR at end-April. - source: Platts

 

Bar/ Wire rod

  • Japan’s wire rod exports average price was US$625.1/ton FOB -source: Yieh

 

  • Japan’s leading mini-mill, Tokyo Steel Manufacturing, tabled a Yen 3,000/mt ($28/mt) rise in its rebar list prices for June after adding Yen 5,000/mt for sections and Yen 7,000/mt for rebar prices in May for current month sales, as reported. - source: Platts

 

  • Platts assessed Turkish export rebar at $394/metric ton FOB Monday, stable from Friday. - source: Platts

 

  • Taiwan May carbon steel wire rod exports prices were NT$16437/tons, down by 1.8% month on month. Main exports countries were Thailand, China and Vietnam.  -source: Yieh

 

HRC/P

  • Turkey, domestic, hot rolled coil, offered at $500-520 per tonne ex-works, August production. Turkey, export, hot rolled coil, offered at $460-480 per tonne fob. - source: Steel First

  • Platts maintained its daily HRC and CRC assessments at $630-$640/st and $820-$840/st, respectively. Both assessments are normalized to a Midwest (Indiana) ex-works basis. -source: Platts
