-          Metal Bulletin reported steel scrap shredded US export price FOB east coast on 6 January 2011 at 470-475 USD per tonne – source: MB

Semi-finished steel prices

-          LME billet continued to rise. Three-month billet price up by $40 to 585 USD per tonne – source: MB

-          Russia and Ukraine sold billet at 640-650 USD per tonne FOB Black Sea for next month – source: MB

-          CIS billet price reached 655 FOB Black Sea – source: SBB

-          Billet offers into Southeast Asia have gone up by $30-40 to 650-670 USD per tonne CFR – source: MB

-          Metal Bulletin reported CIS slab export (Black Sea) on 10 January 2011 at 510-520 USD per tonne – source: MB


-          Offer prices for rebar into Southeast Asia rose sharply. Korean theoretical-weight rebar offers to Singapore are prevailing at 750 USD per tonne CFR, and Turkish mills offer at 730-760 USD per tonne CFR – source: SBB

-          Offer of rebar from Taiwan last week at 730 USD per tonne CFR, and is expected to be around 750 USD per tonne CFR this week – source: SBB

Hot rolled coil prices

-          Baosteel raised HRC price by RMB 100 to RMB 5,102 per tonne in February – source: MB

-          Chinese and South Korea increased HRC export price to Middle East by $50 to 690-700 USD per tonne – source: MB

-          Chinese boron-bearing HRC export offers up by $30-35 to 670-680 USD per tonne FOB – source: MB
