Scrap

-          Suppliers are offering HMS 1:2 (80:20 mix) in containers at $470-490 per tonne cfr Malaysia– source: MB

-          Japanese scrap price for H2 grade at 38,500-39,000 Yen per tonne ($470-476) FOB – source: SBB

-          Scrap price into East Asia are uncertain. Two composite cargoes of shredded and 80:20 were heard booked to Malaysia at 495 USD per tonne CFR – source: SBB

-          Containerized 80:20 from West Africa/ Central America was offered at 460-465 USD per tonne CFR into East Asia – source: SBB

Bar

-          Malaysian mills have raised rebar prices by 50-200 ringgit ($17-66) per tonne. Rebar is being offered and traded at 2,500-2,600 ringgit per tonne- source: MB

-          Vietnam Steel (VN Steel) has raised its rebar to 16.6-17.3 million dong ($799-833) per tonne – source: MB

-          Taiwan's main rebar producer, Feng Hsin Iron & Steel exworks list price for medium-sized rebar at TWD21,600 ($735) per tonne – source: SBB

Hot rolled coil prices

-          Japanese steelmakers have announced a contract price increase of 36% on average for supplying hot rolled coil to South Korean customers. Japan is offering to supply South Korea at $900 per tonne fob for April shipments, $950 fob for May and $1,000 fob for June. – source: MB
