  • Platts assessed SS400 HRC 3.0 mm thick at $280-285/metric ton FOB China Friday, implying a midpoint of $282.50/mt, up $3/mt on day. - source: Platts

 

  • Platts assessed Q235 5.5mm HRC among Shanghai dealers at Yuan 2,040-2,050/mt ($313-314/mt) ex-stock with VAT Friday, up Yuan 10/mt on day. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most heavily traded HRC contract – that for May 2016 – closed at Yuan 1,992/mt, up Yuan 24/mt on the day. - source: Platts

Scrap

  • Platts assessed its weekly H2 scrap price at Yen 17,300-17,500/mt ($152-154/mt) FOB Tokyo Bay Wednesday, up Yen 300-500/mt from last week's Yen 17,000/mt. - source: Platts
  • Platts assessed East Asian bulk HMS I/II 80:20 scrap at $179-$184/mt CFR Wednesday, February 17, down from $180-$186/mt CFR the week before. The implied midpoint of $181.5/mt CFR was $1.50/mt lower on week.. - source: Platts

Semis

  • On February 19, Platts raised its East Asian 120/130mm billet weekly assessment to $260-270/mt CFR from $255-260/mt CFR. The implied midpoint of $265/mt was $7.50/mt higher on week. - source: Platts

 

  • Platts assessed its daily Black Sea billet price at $247.5/mt, up $2.50/mt on day. - source: Platts
