  • In Beijing's dealer market on January 18, the spot price for 18-25mm diameter HRB400 rebar was assessed up by Yuan 5/metric ton ($1/mt) from last Friday at Yuan 1,845-1,855/mt ($278-280/mt) actual weight and including 17% VAT. Scrap

  • Turkish imports of heavy melting scrap 1&2 80:20 rose by $5/mt onthe week to $193/metric ton CFR Iskenderun port.. – source: Platts
  • A steel producer in the Marmara region booked the US cargo on January 15, comprising 27,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (80:20) at $185.75 per tonne, 8,000 tonnes of shredded at $190.75 per tonne and 5,000 tonnes of bonus at $195.75 per tonne cfr. - source: Steel First

 

Semis

  • Platts increased its daily CIS Black Sea billet assessment by $2/metric ton Monday to $255/mt FOB Black Sea. - source: Platts


Bar/ Wire rod

  • Platts assessed Turkish export rebar at $322.50/mt on Monday, down $5/mt from Friday. - source: Platts

  • Hong Kong importers recently booked Russian rebar at $240-245/mt CFR, according to a regional trader, a development that had discouraged buyers from agreeing to much higher Chinese offers of about $260/mt CFR. - source: Platts

  • Tokyo Steel's list price for senior-sized H-beams will remain at Yen 70,000/metric ton ($598/mt) for February and that for SPHC 1.7-22mm hot rolled coils stays at Yen 53,000/mt ($453/mt). - source: Platts
