Long steel

  • Platts assessed 16-20mm diameter BS500 rebar at $252-255/metric ton FOB China actual weight, implying a midpoint of $253.5/mt FOB and steady on the day. One trader quoted offers at about $275/mt CFR Hong Kong actual weight for rebar from a northern China mill. - source: Platts

 

  • East China, domestic, grade-III 16-25mm rebar, traded at 1,830-1,870 yuan ($287-293) per tonne, including VAT. North China, domestic, grade-III 16-25mm rebar, traded at 1,800-1,840 yuan ($282-289) per tonne, including VAT.– source: Steel First

 

Flat steel

  • East China, domestic, commercial-grade HRC (4.5-12mm), traded at 1,830-1,860 yuan per tonne, including VAT. North China, domestic, commercial-grade HRC (4.5-12mm), traded at 1,720-1,740 yuan per tonne, including VAT   – source: Steel First

 

Semis

  • Chinese billet offers have been heard at $270-285 per tonne cfr Turkey this week, up from $250-260 per tonne cfr last week. - source: Steel First

  • Tangshan, domestic, billet, traded at 1,560 yuan ($245) per tonne, including VAT, 3pm Beijing. - source: Steel First

Steel Prices in Other Countries

Scrap

  • Steel First's daily scrap index for Northern European HMS 1&2 (80:20) material stood at $193.24 per tonne cfr, unchanged compared with Monday. – source: Steel First

Semis

  • Platts daily Black Sea billet assessment moved up $2/mt to $277/mt FOB Black Sea on Tuesday driven mostly by higher offers maintained by CIS and stronger buying in Egypt. - source: Platts

Bar/ Wire rod

  • European prices for mesh-quality wire rod are reported to be around €320-330/mt effective delivered, with drawing-quality rod between €10/mt and €20/mt higher. - source: Platts

  • In Germany and in France rebar prices are reported stable at around €110-120/metric ton base delivered. – source: Platts

HRC/P

  • Steel First's weekly assessment for HRC import prices in Southeast Asia – which takes into account Chinese 2-3mm SAE1006-grade HRC in Vietnam – went unchanged for a second week at $270-280 per tonne cfr in the week ending November 16. - source: Steel First

  • Platts assessed north European hot rolled coil unchanged Tuesday at €325-335/metric ton ex-works Ruhr. - source: Platts

  • CIS mills were offering HRC generally in the range of $265-275/mt FOB to export markets including Turkey, while Chinese suppliers' offers were $5-10/mt lower, with longer lead-times.  - source: Platts
