Scrap

Semis

  • Platts daily Black Sea billet assessment remained stable at $278/mt FOB Black Sea on Wednesday as uncertainty continued within a quiet market. - source: Platts

 

Bar/ Wire rod

 

  • In Singapore, the tradable price was around $265/mt CFR theoretical weight for December shipment, one trader in east China said. The popular offer for November shipment was around $270/mt CFR – equivalent to about $263/mt FOB actual weight, taking into account $15/mt freight and 3% volume tolerance. - source: Platts

 

  • Rebar prices in Hong Kong were tracking downwards. One mill source in east China indicated that $280/mt CFR (or equivalent to $267/mt FOB) was acceptable on the mill's side, but that securing bookings at this level for November shipment is already very difficult, with one of his clients even bidding at $273/mt CFR. - source: Platts

 

 HRC/P

  • For SAE1006 2.0mm thick coil, Chinese offers remained stable at $280-285/mt CFR Vietnam, a Vietnamese reroller said. Meanwhile, Japanese offers were unchanged at $310/mt CFR Vietnam, but many buyers believed Japanese sellers were willing accept lower, a Vietnamese trader said.  - source: Platts

 

  • Turkish mills' domestic offer prices for HRC stood at $345-355/mt ex-works on Wednesday, while their export offers were at as low as $335-345/mt. - source: Platts
