Steel Prices in Other Countries

Scrap

  • Scrap import prices into Asia also fell last week. For Indian imports of containerized shredded, prices fell by $9/mt on the week to $232/mt CFR west coast port. – source: Platts
  • The latest round of bulk export bookings by Turkish mills brought the tradeable value of HMS 80:20 to $200-$205/mt CFR Turkey. US bulk export sales were at $240/mt CFR Turkey in mid-August. – source: Platts

 

Semis

  • Steel First's weekly price assessment for billet imports into Turkey was $300-310 per tonne cfr, which was $5 per tonne lower than the $305-315 per tonne of last week. - source: Steel First

 

  • In Manila, a recent booking of 100mm 3sp billet from Russia took place at $285-290/metric ton CFR last week. In Vietnam, the lowest priced offers from China are around $280/mt CFR for 150mm Q235 billet. - source: Platts

 

Bar/ Wire rod

  • Steel First assessed Southeast Asia import rebar prices at $285-300 per tonne cfr for the week to Monday September 14, down from $290-300 per tonne cfr a week ago. source: Steel First

 

 

 

  • The Platts daily imported rebar price assessment dropped to $349-$354/st ($385-$390/mt) CIF Houston on Thursday, down from $360-$365/st ($397-$402/mt). - source: Platts

 

HRC/P

  • Platts assessed European hot rolled coil unchanged Thursday at €355-365/metric ton ex-works Ruhr.  - source: Platts

 

  • US HRC prices fell to $497 per tonne ($451 per ton), according to the latest SteelBenchmarker report, down 1.6% from $505 per tonne ($458 per ton) three weeks earlier. - source: Steel First
