Scrap

 

  • Platts maintained its daily US Midwest shredded scrap assessment Monday at $230-$245/lt delivered mill. – source: Platts

 

  • Its scrap procurement price remained unchanged at TWD 5,300/mt. Feng Hsin usually purchases heavy melting scrap 1&2 (80:20) for its steelmaking operations. – source: Platts

 

 

Semis

 

  • The Platts' monthly assessment for base standard grade SAE1008, SAE1006 or equivalent slab in end-August was $280-290/mt CFR, down from $290-300/mt CFR in end-July. The implied midpoint of $285/mt was $10 down on month. - source: Platts
