Steel Prices in Other Countries

Scrap

  • The average price of H2 scrap in Kanto region was at 22,333/ton, holding steady; that in Central region was at ¥20,020/ton, dropping by ¥300/ton and that in Kansai regions was at 22,575/ton, decreasing by ¥500/ton; all compared to the figures in the previous week. – source: Yieh

Semis

  • Steel First assessed billet prices in Southeast Asia at $308-325 per tonne cfr for the week to Monday August 17, widening downwards from $310-325 per tonne cfr a week earlier. - source: Steel First

Bar/ Wire rod

 

  • One midwestern distributor said Turkish rebar offers are $410-$415/st loaded truck in Houston and around $420/st loaded truck at East Coast ports for November arrival. The distributor said that 10% more of his accounts are willing to use imports this year, compared to last year. - source: Platts 

 

HRC/P

  • Platts assessed European hot rolled coil unchanged Monday at €378-382/metric ton ex-works Ruhr. - source: Platts
