Long steel

  • Platts assessed 18-25mm diameter HRB400 rebar down by Yuan 10/metric ton ($2/mt) at Yuan 2,040-2,060/mt ($323-326/mt) ex-stock, actual weight and including 17% VAT. This followed a price jump of Yuan 95/mt over the previous week – source: Platts
  • Tangshan billet prices were prevailing at Yuan 1,850/mt ($292/mt) on Wednesday, up Yuan 20/mt from Tuesday. Prices were at Yuan 1,880/mt ($297/mt) on August 5. - source: Platts

 

  • Platts Wednesday assessed 6.5mm mesh-quality wire rod unchanged on week at $310-314/mt FOB China, implying a midpoint of $312/mt FOB. - source: Platts

 

  • East China, domestic, grade-III 16-25mm rebar, traded at 2,100-2,150 yuan ($338-346) per tonne, including VAT. North China, domestic, grade-III 16-25mm rebar, traded at 2,000-2,080 yuan ($322-334) per tonne, including VAT. - source: Steel First

 

Flat steel

  • East China, domestic, commercial-grade HRC (4.5-12mm), traded at 2,010-2,030 yuan ($323-326) per tonne, including VAT. North China, domestic, commercial-grade HRC (4.5-12mm), traded at 2,120-2,130 yuan ($341-342) per tonne, including VAT. - source: Steel First

Scrap

  • The average prices of H1 scraps in Pittsburgh were at US$209.5/long ton, dropping by US$25/long ton; those in Chicago were at US$224.5/long ton, reducing by US$24/ton; and those in Philadelphia were at US$198.5/long ton, decreasing by US$45/long ton. - source: Yieh

 

  • Turkey, import; 31,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (80:20) at $238 per tonne, 4,000 tonnes of bonus at $248 per tonne cfr; August 12, from the Baltic Sea.
