Long steel

  • The average price of 6.5mm Q235 high speed wire rod decreased 9 yuan per tonne from the previous trading day to 2,604 yuan per tonne and that of 20mm HRB400 rebar dropped by 10 yuan per tonne to 2,548 yuan per tonne. – source: SteelHome

 

 

Flat steel

  • SteelHome daily price assessment of 8mm medium plate in China reached 2,922 yuan per tonne, down by 10 yuan per tonne from the previous trading day. – source: SteelHome

 

  • In Shanghai, prices for commercial-grade HRC (4.5-12mm) widened downwards by 10 yuan ($2) per tonne from last Friday's range to 2,400-2,420 yuan ($392-396) per tonne, the lowest since Steel First started assessing the product in August 2004. In Beijing, prices for the same product were at 2,400-2,410 yuan ($392-394) per tonne, down 10 yuan ($2) per tonne over the same period.  All prices are inclusive of VAT. – source: Steel First

 

  • Base export transaction prices for SPCC 1.0mm CRC were in the range of $420-430 per tonne fob for late May or June shipment on Tuesday April 7, narrowing downwards by $10 per tonne from Steel First's assessment last Friday.– source: Steel First

 

  • The average price of 2.75mm hot-rolled coil in China down by 10 yuan per tonne from the previous trading day to 2,672 yuan per tonne while that of 1.0mm cold-rolled coil down by 5 yuan per tonne to 3,394 yuan per tonne. – source: SteelHome

Scrap

  • Platts maintained its daily shredded assessment range Monday at $255-270/lt delivered Midwest mill, compared to No. 1 busheling at $250-260/lt.  - source: Platts
  •  US H1 scrap prices averaged at US$236.83/long ton on March 30th, holding steady from the previous week. - source: Yieh
  • Steel First's weekly price assessment for Turkish domestic melting scrap from shipbreaking was $259-260 per tonne delivered, up from the $255-260 per tonne in the past week. – source: Steel First

 

Semis

  • Brazilian slab producers have been regaining market presence in Asia, while forced to slash offer prices by $30-40/mt to $325/mt FOB for April bookings - source: Platts
