Steel Prices in China


Long products

-         The price of 12mm HRB400 rebar in China's major marketplaces averaged 3,283 yuan per tonne, down 6 yuan per tonne from the previous trading day – source: SteelHome

Flat products

-         China's base export transaction prices for August shipment commercial-grade, boron-containing HRC were at $500-505 per tonne fob on Monday June 30, unchanged from last week – source: MB

Steel Prices in other countries



-         TSI's US domestic Midwest shredded scrap index (delivered mill) was flat last week at $373/long ton – source: Platts

-         Japanese traders were paying Yen 32,500-33,000/mt ($319.25-324.17/mt) FAS at Tokyo Bay for H2 for export, up Yen 500/mt from the previous week – source: Platts

-         The average Japan's nationwide price being paid for deliveries of H2-grade scrap stood at ¥31,302 ($303) per tonne in the fourth week of June, according to the Japan Ferrous Raw Materials Assn – source: MB


-         Slab imports into East Asia at $515-525/metric ton CFR on Friday, down by $10/mt month-on-month – source: Platts

Bar/ Wire rod

-         Platts increased its weekly assessment of Russian domestic prices for 14-12mm rebar to 21,650-22,000 rubles/mt ($643-653) CPT Moscow – source: Platts



-         In Russia, two traders bought undisclosed quantities of the July-rolled 4mm HR sheet at 23,000 roubles from several producers. The price was lower than the initial offers for the material, which stood at between 23,300 roubles and 23,600 roubles, but higher than the previous month's rolling deal prices of 22,700-22,850 roubles per tonne cpt Moscow – source: MB
