Scrap

-          USA-Turkey, February 5, deal, 20,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (80:20) at $370 per tonne cfr, 25,000 tonnes of shredded at $375 per tonne cfr – source: Steel First

-          Metal Bulletin’s daily index for HMS 1&2 (80:20) scrap delivered to Turkey remained almost stable at $360.19 per tonne cfr on Wednesday February 5, down by only $0.21 per tonne day-on-day – source: MB

-          Korean Hyundai Steel bid Japanese H2 scraps and Shindachi scraps for 35,200/ton FOB and 40,500/ton FOB in last week. The prices are ¥400/ton lower on the prior comparable period – source: Yieh

Semis

-          The London Metal Exchange’s three-month steel billet contract price stood at $360-370 per tonne on Wednesday February 5, unchanged from last week – source: MB

-          In the Philippines, pre-holiday Chinese offers were at $530/metric ton CFR for blast furnace billet and at $520/mt CFR for induction furnace billet – source: SBB

-          In Indonesia, the billet market was paying $530/mt CFR compared to $540/mt CFR three weeks ago – source: SBB

Bars/Wire rods

-          Platts assessments show 12mm rebar prices in Argentina at $1,010-1,015/mt FOB mill and in Mexico, at $680/mt delivered – source: SBB

-          Indonesia’s Krakatau Steel is offering wire rod at 8,450-8,475 rupiah per kg ($701-703 per tonne) for volumes below 1,000 tonnes and for delivery in Jakarta, up from January’s 8,350-8,400 rupiah per kg ($693-697 per tonne) – source: Steel First

HRC/P

-          Domestic and import heavy plate prices in Southern Europe edged up €10-15 ($14-20) this week. Commodity-grade (S235) 8-40mm heavy plate in Southern Europe rose €10 to €475-485 per tonne ex-works this week, from €465-475 – source: MB

-          Ukraine’s Metinvest was booking March output in Turkey at prices between $545-555/mt CFR for HRC – source: SBB
