-          Metal Bulletin’s daily index for HMS 1&2 (80:20) scrap delivered to Turkey recovered to rise back above $370 per tonne cfr following fresh deals from the USA and Canada heard in the markets – source: MB


-          The London Metal Exchange’s three-month steel billet contract price stood at $360-370 per tonne on Monday February 3, unchanged from last week – source: MB

-          Iran’s domestic billet size 120 mm was around USD 562 per MT to USD 574 per MT ex work including VAT at the beginning of the week – source: SteelGuru

-          Turkish-origin offers in Egypt are at $600/mt CFR, while CIS-origin product is quoted at $590/mt CFR – source: SBB


-          HRC unchanged in US at $670-680/st – source: SBB

-          In India, the price of hot rolled coil (HRC), the benchmark steel product, went up to Rs 41,500 a tonne from Rs 39,500 per tonne earlier- source: The Economic Times

-          US’s plate prices transacted at $39.50 per hundredweight ($790 per ton) this past week, up from $38.50 per cwt ($770 per ton) previously, with some sources citing buys ranging closer to $40 to $40.50 per cwt ($800 to $810 per ton) – source: MB
