China’s Steel prices

Long steel prices

-       Northern China’s Hebei Iron & Steel (Hegang) settled July’s contract price for 18-25mm diameter HRB400 rebar at Yuan 3,450/metric ton ($559/mt) with 17% VAT on Monday – source: SBB

-       The average price of 6.5mm HPB235 and 20mm HRB335 in Chinese major markets fell by RMB 10 per tonne to RMB 3,547 per tonne and RMB 3,502 per tonne – source: SteelHome

Flat steel prices

-       Q235 5.5mm HRC was traded at Yuan 3,590-3,610/metric ton ($586-589/mt) with 17% VAT in Shanghai and Yuan 3,700-3,720/mt with VAT in Lecong, down Yuan 20/mt and Yuan 25/mt respectively from last Friday – source: SBB

-       China’s prices of 2.75mm HRC lost RMB 10 per tonne to RMB 3,775 per tonne; prices of 1.0mm CRC edged down RMB 4 per tonne to RMB 4,479 per tonne – source: SteelHome

-       Prices of 8mm medium plate averaged RMB 3,975 per tonne in China, down RMB 6 per tonne – source: SteelHome

Steel Prices in other countries


-          Feng Hsin also kept unchanged its scrap buying prices at TWD 10,100/mt on Monday – source: SBB

-          Taiwanese import prices of 80:20 (in container) were up $2/mt week-on-week to $348/mt CFR Taiwan port on July 26, according to The Steel Index – source: SBB

-          A steel producer in Iskenderun booked a US cargo comprising 10,000 tonnes of P&S and 30,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (90:10) at an average price of $380 per tonne cfr – source: MB

Bar/Wire rod

-          Feng Hsin’s list prices for rebar and section steel are at NT$17,200/ton and NT$19,100~NT$19,300/ton respectively – source: Yieh


-          In India, transaction prices for IS 2062 grade A/B structural HRC, 3mm thick and above, mostly averaged Rupees 33,750-34,250/metric ton ($570-579/mt) ex-works in July – source: SBB
