China’s Steel prices

-       Some major mills in China raised their export offers for SS400 grade 12-30mm boron-added commodity plate by $15-20/metric ton over last week to $530-535/mt FOB China –source: SBB

-       Q235 5.5mm HRC prices were around Yuan 3,520-3,550/metric ton ($574-579/mt) with 17% VAT in Shanghai and Yuan 3,580-3,620/mt with VAT in Lecong, almost unchanged from the previous day – source: SBB

Steel Prices in other countries

Scrap

-          A steel producer in the Iskenderun region booked a US cargo comprising 30,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (80:20) at $363 per tonne cfr and 15,000 tonnes of shredded at $368 per tonne cfr on July 3 – source: MB

-          In Vietnam, mills booked 5,000 mt lots of H2 grade scrap at $346-347/mt CFR this week. Deals for 5,000 mt cargoes of H1/H2 50:50 concluded a week ago at $355-358/mt CFR Vietnam levels – source: SBB

-          The Platts daily assessment for shredded scrap remained at $390-395/lt delivered Midwest mill on Friday, up $20 from early June – source: SBB

-          Export quotes of the US vessel HMS 80:20 (1&2) to Taiwan are at US$365/ton CFR, rising by US$5/ton from a week ago – source: Yieh

Semis

-          The London Metal Exchange’s three-month steel billet contract price rose to $160-170 per tonne on Friday July 5, from $150-160 per tonne on Thursday – source: MB

Bar

-          The offer range of rebar from most Turkish mills is unchanged at $575-580/metric ton FOB Turkish ports – source: SBB

HRC

-          HRC in the North and South Europe held at €455-460 ($590-597) per tonne ex-works and €420-455 ($545-590) per tonne ex-works respectively, unchanged from last week – source: MB

-          Turkish producers are asking $570-575 per tonne ex-works for HRC, up from last week’s $540-560 per tonne ex-works for base product – source: MB

-          Ukraine is asking $520 per tonne cfr for HRC, up from last month’s $505-510 per tonne cfr – source: MB
