China’s Steel prices

Long steel prices

-       In Beijing, grade III rebar was traded at 3,320-3,370 yuan ($537-545) per tonne, unchanged since last Thursday – source: MB

-       In Shanghai, rebar price was steady at 3,220-3,300 yuan ($520-533) per tonne – source: MB

Flat steel prices

-       Commercial-grade HRC (4.5-12mm) in Shanghai traded at 3,450-3,470 yuan ($558-561) per tonne, tightening upwards by 10 yuan ($2) per tonne from last Friday – source: MB

Steel Prices in other countries


-          Taiwanese import prices of 80:20 (in container) were down $1/mt week-on-week to $338/mt CFR Taiwan port on June 28 – source: SBB

-          In Turkey’s domestic market, auto bundle (DKP grade) scrap is still priced at TRY $610-685/metric ton ($317-356) delivered to mill – source: SBB


-          Taiwanese Feng Hsin’s list price for base-size bars remains at TWD 17,100/metric ton ($569/mt) ex-works central-west Taichung effective Monday – source: SBB



-          Taiwanese re-roller Chung Hung Steel has cut export prices of its hot rolled by $10-20/metric ton for August deliveries to around $520-530/mt FOB – source: SBB
