China?ˉs Steel prices

Long steel prices

-       On Beijing?ˉs dealer market, spot prices for 18-25mm diameter HRB400 rebar sourced from Hebei Iron & Steel (Hegang) retreated to Yuan 3,560-3,580/metric ton ($573-577/mt) with 17% VAT from Yuan 3,570-3,580/mt the previous day ¨C source: SBB

Flat steel prices

-       China?ˉs dealer prices of Q235 5.5mm HRC were Yuan 3,550-3,570/metric ton ($572-575/mt) with 17% VAT in Shanghai and Yuan 3,600-3,610/mt in Guangdong Lecong steel market, down Yuan 20/mt and Yuan 35/mt from the previous day ¨C source: SBB

Steel Prices in other countries


-          Dongkuk Steel Mill, Korea?ˉs second largest scrap consumer , this week booked a small tonnage of H2 grade Japanese scrap at Yen 32,500/metric ton ($316/mt) FOB ¨C source: SBB

-          The average prices of H1 scraps in Pittsburgh were at US$329.5/long ton; those in Chicago were at US$344.5/long ton, and those in Philadelphia was at US$323.5/long ton, all keeping unchanged in comparison to the average prices in a week ago ¨C source: Yieh

-          The average price of H2 scrap in Kanto region was at £¤32,083/ton, decreasing by £¤667/ton; that in Central region was at £¤28,320/ton, falling by £¤500/ton and that in Kansai regions was at £¤33,063/ton, remaining flat, all compared to the figures in the previous week ¨C source: Yieh


-          Rebar exports out of Turkey was $575-585 per tonne fob, down from $580-595 per tonne last week ¨C source: MB


-          Prices for plate 4-12mm thick, 1,500mm wide are at $620-625/mt, while 12-20mm thick, 1,500mm wide plates are priced at $625-630/mt ex-works, excluding 18% VAT ¨C source: SBB
