Steel Prices in other countries


-       Japan’s Tokyo Steel announced to cut its scrap purchasing prices by JPY 500 per tonne to JPY 1,000 per tonne at its 5 works from April 3rd – source: Steelguru



-          A mill booked two lots of billet from the CIS this week at $536-540/metric ton CFR Nemrut Bay – source: SBB

-          The London Metal Exchange’s three-month steel billet contract price fell to $190-200 per tonne on Thursday April 4, from $195-205 per tonne on Wednesday – source: MB


-          Russian-made 32-80mm hot rolled carbon steel round bar has gone up from the Roubles 18,400/mt to Roubles 18,500/mt – source: SBB

-          Turkish export rebar was $595-605 per tonne fob, which is down from last week’s $605-615 per tonne fob – source: MB

-          Export prices for rebar from Spain, Italy and Portugal are now €460-465 ($590-596) per tonne fob main Southern European port for May production, compared with €460-470 ($590-603) last week – source: MB


-          Russian bar mills have lifted domestic prices for hot rolled bar produced in April-early May by 500-1,000 roubles/metric ton ($16-31/mt) from March levels, while others have left prices unchanged – source: SBB
