China's Steel Prices


-          Prices of Q235 5.5mm HRC on 5 November were prevailing at RMB 3,830-3,870/metric ton ($613-620) with 17% VAT in Shanghai and RMB 3,900-3,910/mt with VAT in Guangdong's Lecong steel market, both up about RMB 10-30/mt from last Friday – source: SBB

-          China's prices for 2.75mm HRC continue upward trend, up RMB 18 per tonne to RMB 3,991 per tonne; prices for 1.0mm CRC edge higher at RMB 4,555 per tonne, up RMB 1 per tonne – source: SteelHome


-          China's construction steel prices show modest rise today, with 6.5mm high speed wire rod and 20mm rebar up RMB 4 per tonne and RMB 3 per tonne respectively, reaching RMB 3,803 per tonne and RMB 3,814 per tonne – source: SteelHome

-          Beijing prices for 18-25mm diameter HRB400 rebar sourced from Hebei Iron & Steel (Hegang) retreated by about RMB 10-50/metric ton ($2-8) to approximately RMB 3,680-3,700/mt ($589-592) with 17% VAT on November 5 – source: SBB

Steel Prices in other countries


-          Metal Bulletin's ferrous scrap index for HMS 1&2 (80:20) material cfr Turkey pushed above $395 per tonne on Friday November 2, up from $378.81 per tonne a week earlier on lower scrap availability – source: MB


-          Turkish billet import price has climbed to around $550/mt CFR – equivalent to 525/mt FOB Black Sea - source: SBB


-          Thai domestic rebar prices are currently at THB 18,700-19,000/mt ($607-617) delivered, excluding 7% VAT – source; SBB


-          EAF-based producer Colakoglu is offering HRC at $580-585/metric ton ex-works, up from $570-575/mt previously – source: SBB

-          US domestic hot rolled coil prices (HRC) continue to inch higher by $40-per-ton price, citing recent transactions for HRC at $30 per hundredweight ($600 per ton) – source: MB
