China Steel Prices

Flat

-          China’s 2.75mm HRC prices fell by RMB 18 per tonne to RMB 3,764 per tonne and 1.0mm CRC prices dropped by RMB 6 per tonne to RMB 4,493 per tonne – source: Steelhome

-          The latest prevailing base export prices for HDG in China are in the range of $630-650 per tonne fob, up $10-20 per tonne from last week – source: MB

-          China’s prevailing prices of Q235 5.5mm HRC have decreased to RMB 3,550-3,630/tonne ($563-575/t) with 17% VAT in Shanghai and to RMB 3,470-3,550/t with VAT in Lecong, down by RMB 40-50/t and RMB 20-80/t respectively from last Thursday – source: SBB

Long

-          China’s 6.5mm high speed wire rod prices drop by RMB 4 per tonne to RMB 3,720 per tonne and 20mm rebar prices down by RMB 11 per tonne to RMB 3,690 per tonne – source: Steelhome

-          Chinese Baosteel announced to cut the list prices for steel wire products by RMB140~RMB320/ton averagely for October – source: Yieh

 

Steel Prices in other countries

Scrap

-          Indian heavy melt scrap price is now down to $380 levels and shred to $390 levels – source: MB

-          One deal in the past day saw HMS 1&2 (80:20) from the USA sell at $370 per tonne cfr Iskenderun, down from deals earlier this week of $372 – source: MB

-          US container HMS 80:20 (1&2) tp Taiwan might rise to US$365/ton C&F this week and the transaction prices might be at US$358~US$360/ton C&F – source: Yieh

Bar

-          In Germany and Benelux rebar 12-16mm are holding at €530-545/tonne delivered, with some sources claiming deals at €520/t del – source: SBB

-          Korea’s spot prices for SD400 grade 10mm diameter rebar produced by local mills are now at KRW 750,000- 770,000/tonne ($665-683/t), down some KRW 10,000-20,000/t ($8.9-17.7/t) from a week ago – source: SBB

HRC

-          The US HR coil reference price FOB Midwest mill dropped to $641/short ton ($707/tonne), which is $7/st below last week’s price – source: SBB
