Assessment of Environmental Management in Thailand's Steel Industry for Sustainable Development
Steel is a basic material used in all areas of human activity. Steel is considered as one of the life necessity, along with the need of fuel, energy, electricity, water and etc. Steel applications are everywhere, including electrical appliance, kitchenware, automotive, medical instrument, agriculture machinery, construction material and also in munitions of wear. The awareness of life essential and utilization of steel must be considerably set off accordingly in such a way that will ultimately lead to the sustainable development. To simply put, in order to construct sustainable development for the steel industry, we must simultaneously put great emphasis and tremendous efforts into these three intentions, economy, environment and social sustainability. Construction industry accounting for 60 percent of total steel consumption in Thailand ? Automotive industry accounting for 13 percent of total steel consumption in Thailand ? Electrical appliance industry accounting for 10 percent of total steel consumption in Thailand ?
